It was a painstaking job but we took advantage of the access the scaffolding provided and the west window depicting St George has now been carefully cleaned. The plastering of the ceiling is now finished and will be allowed to dry over the weekend before the decorators move in next week. There are still many small but important jobs to be done and whilst the scaffolding is in place, a team has been organised to clean light fittings and replace some bulbs. Assuming all goes according to plan, it is hoped that some of the scaffolding will be removed next week but this is a big job and will continue in to Easter week when the cleaning contractor is also due to begin work but we really are on the home strait now!
