St George’s was cool and quiet yesterday, and (as a more practically minded person would anticipate and therefore dress for) very, very dusty. It was lunch time, so I had the place to myself, mercifully nobody was there so see me sliding down the ramp up to the flower vestry (flip flops perhaps not the best idea and neither was the white skirt) but despite the ‘calamity jane’ arrival, it was a relief to get out of the heat and see first hand the progress being made. Given that its over a week since the last update, a lot has happened.

All the heating pipes have been laid and sealed in under concrete with access chambers set into the floor. And with the floor slabs down you can really appreciate how the new single level in the chancel looks.

And in the north transept you can see the ends of the pipes – where the heating control panel will be.
